Carnarvon Community Preschool

Carnarvon Community School offers a number of childcare options including Preschool, Kindercare and School-aged Care for children five to twelve years old. Programming takes place in our beautiful childcare facility located on the playground directly adjacent to the school. After School Care programs also make use of the main school facilities.

It is our goal to create a safe, warm and nurturing environment that focuses on the development of positive self-esteem and recognizes the needs of individual children. As these objectives are best achieved by the building of co-operative partnerships with families, staff and community we welcome your participation and support. Through the sharing of information, skills and knowledge we can work together to provide the best possible environment for your family.

The Preschool maintains a very high teacher to child staffing ratio. The three year old and three/four year old classes have four Early Childhood Educators with a maximum enrollment of twenty children.

The four year old class has three Educators with a maximum of twenty children. Additional teachers join the class for special programming and when we go on field trips.

The Preschool enrolls twenty children in four weekly licensed programs. Three year olds come on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and four year olds attend Preschool on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. 

The Preschool also offers a two, three or five day afternoon Preschool option. Afternoon classes are a mixed grouping of both three and four year old children. If desired, children may attend 5 afternoons per week or mix alternating mornings and afternoons. Due to Licensing regulations children may not attend a morning and an afternoon session on the same day.
