This program provides a unique experience for your child to learn, play, and grow in an enriching environment. Your child will be immersed in a language centered classroom designed to promote their physical development, fine and gross motor skills, and their social, emotional, and cognitive development!

Highly qualified teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Early Childhood Educators utilize special learning strategies to stimulate and stretch your child’s language and academic development. This targeted educational program provides the support needed to enable children with hearing loss to develop age-appropriate speech, language, and listening skills.

What Does the Program Look Like?

-For the children, it is a regular preschool that fosters language development through play

-Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) are conducted twice a year for all children in our Preschool program

-In addition, regularly guided observation sessions are conducted throughout the year with parents, which gives you a unique opportunity to observe how your child learns and interacts in the classroom

-Lastly, children in this program have regular access to Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists to monitor their growth and development.

This program provides a strong listening and spoken language learning environment that follows the BC Ministry of Education standards and focuses on academic growth. With a low student to teacher ratio, you can be assured your child is receiving the individualized attention they need to promote their listening and spoken language development.

What Does the Program Look Like?

-For the children, it is a typical primary school environment

-In this environment your child will engage in a wide range of activities suitable to their grade and have the added benefit of continued listening and spoken language development to better prepare them for entrance into mainstream schooling

-Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) meetings are conducted three times a year for all children in our primary programs

-In addition, regularly guided observation sessions and group meetings are conducted throughout the year with parents, which gives you a unique opportunity to observe how your child learns and interacts in the classroom

-Lastly, children in this program have regular access to an audiologist and a speech-language pathologist to monitor their audiological and language development

Our Before School program runs from 8:00-9:00 am M-F and our After School program runs from 3:10 pm– 4:45 pm M-W & F (2:10 pm-4:45 pm Thursday).

This program continues where our preschool and primary program day ends. Managed by specially trained Early Childhood Educators, students receive continuing education outside of regular school hours, further building on the instructions they received throughout the day. Our educators provide a fun, enriching, and nurturing environment in this program, developing the child’s creativity and curiosity through play!
